Between Aug’ 20 - Aug ‘21, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the UpStrategy Lab team as a digital product designer.

During this time, I contributed to the design of two digital products: Cogoport and MuchSkills

Below is a high level compilation of all the work I was able to do on MuchSkills, which is a strengths visualization tool designed to help teams look into the skills they have, and the ones they don’t, for a more productive, engaged and happier work life.

To honor non-disclosures, I must withhold any and all information about the design process -- but feel free to reach out to me and I would be happy to walk you through a deeper dive.

MuchSkills

MuchSkills is designed to help employees define what they believe their “superpowers” to be, and to help employers identify growth & upskilling opportunities.

I had the opportunity to design for the ogranisation’s point of view. My focus during my time with the MuchSkills team was to identify opportunities where skills data can support team leads and department heads in building a strengths-focused organisation.
Skills Overview The Skills Overview for a team or for a department is designed as a collection of interactive “skill set cards”. Each skill set card displays the number of people who have that specific skill, as well as their respective proficiencies.
Skills Management Many teams like to define the skills they want to associate with a department. On MuchSkills, they can do this using the Skills Management spreadsheet, which is designed to facilitate the creation of new skill sets, as well as the declaration of default standard skills.
Departments The departments page is designed to capture an overview of what makes each department unique: the top 10 skills. On each individual department page, heads have access to insights such as overall expertise and engagement levels.
Retrospectives Quarterly retrospectives help determine the engagement levels of each employee. This data is then used to inform growth and upskilling opportunities for the team as a whole.
Certifications The Certifications page allows team leads to view all the available certifications, as well as define certain mandatory ones for team members to acquire.
